Birthday Facts by Date

Discover verifiable calendar facts about your birth date: the weekday, its day number within the year and whether the birth year was a leap year. These results come directly from calendar arithmetic. They do not claim that a birth date determines a person’s character, relationships or future.

How the calculation works

The weekday is calculated in the Gregorian calendar. The ordinal day is the elapsed count from 1 January plus one, so 1 January is day 1. The leap-year check tests whether February in the birth year has a valid 29th day.

Worked example

1 January 2000 was a Saturday, day 1 of the year, in a leap year. 1 March 2024 is day 61 because February had 29 days. In a common year, 1 March is day 60.

Facts you can calculate and facts you need to research

Weekdays and day numbers are reproducible from the date. Historical events, local holidays and famous birthdays require separate reliable sources and context. A shared date does not establish a relationship between those events and the person born on it.

Explore birthday traditions separately

Birthstones and zodiac labels are cultural traditions. You can look them up using the related articles, while keeping them separate from the calendar facts produced here. This page avoids mixing personality claims into a factual date result.

Important limitations

Very old historical records may have used a different calendar before a country adopted the Gregorian system. This tool does not translate Julian-calendar dates or compile historical events and famous birthdays. Check an original record if a historical weekday matters.
